Belle Alliance was founded in 1994 as the first lesbian and gay choir in Hamburg and has been open to the entire LGBTQIA+ community since the beginning. Whether queer, bi, gay or lesbian: around 20 singers in four vocal groups under the musical direction of John Lehman work on new and old pieces once a week and put the finishing touches to them until they are ready for performance. The musical repertoire includes pop, musicals and hits from the last few decades as well as more traditional pieces and folk songs. However, Belle Alliance likes to rewrite the lyrics in a queer way. The choir can be heard live not only at its own concerts once a year, but also regularly at performances in and around Hamburg.
